West Ham are willing to sell Wales striker Craig Bellamy to raise funds for new signings. (Daily Mirror)
I’m sure a lineup will be forming across the block for a striker who has one goal this year and is earning 80000 pounds a week. Another contract on West Ham's books that an accountant must cringe at.
West Ham midfielders Lee Bowyer and Nigel Quashie, plus defender Calum Davenport and forward Luis Boa Morte are also up for grabs as Zola looks to fund a bid for £7m-rated Fiorentina striker Giampaolo Pazzini. (Daily Express)
Pazzini is staying in Italy. Even with the connection concerning Zola coaching Pazzini at the under 21 level the player will stay in Italy in order to increase his profile for a spot in the Italian National Soccer team. Besides those West Ham players are by and large rubbish.
Redknapp plans to raid another of his old clubs by signing Portsmouth right-back Glen Johnson for about £6m but will have to sell players first. (The Independent)
Don’t know how Johnson and Alan Hutton would co-exist once the Hutton returns from injury. Johnson making his way to Tottenham would be a clear symbol that Hutton would face a summer exit.
New Real Madrid boss Juande Ramos will return to his former club Tottenham to try to sign wingers David Bentley and Aaron Lennon in January. (Daily Star)
Still in shock over Ramos coaching Real Madrid. This is a silly rumor mind you. I’d love to see Ramos trying to convince the Real Madrid bean counters to spend money for any of his old Tottenham players. I’d be thinking are you serious with this request to sign players who guided your team to the bottom of the table in England? Besides Bentley played out of position for Tottenham and lashed out at Ramos in every interview during Ramos’s final days. The press just loves linking Lennon to any team it seems.
Chelsea are planning an £8m bid for Middlesbrough striker Tuncay in the new year. (Daily Mail)
Big fan of Tuncay whose work rate is top notch and scores key goals for Boro. Not his fault Middlesbrough often let leads slip away late in games.
Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue is on the brink of quitting the club after being barracked by Gunners fans. (Daily Mirror)
Somehow this is still William Gallas fault.
Portsmouth striker David Nugent will turn down a move to Everton because he wants to prove himself at Fratton Park. (Daily Mirror)
Doesn’t spending close to 18 months nailed to the bench signal how the club feels about you?
Under-pressure Blackburn manager Paul Ince has been granted a stay of execution but will be sacked if his side lose at Wigan on Saturday. (Daily Mirror)
Ince has been told he has four more games to save his job. (The Sun)
Could of never guessed this would be ending badly for Ince and Blackburn.
Ince blames his side’s struggles on the club’s decision to sell star players goalkeeper Brad Friedel and winger David Bentley in the summer, without replacing them. (The Sun)
It was Ince who bought in former England number 1 Paul Robinson before shipping off Brad Friedel to Aston Villa. The club did replace David Bentley with Carlos Villanueva. It isn’t like many 15 million pound players would be willing to play for Blackburn so of course it makes sense for the club to pocket some of that Bentley money.
