Owner Mike Ashley said in an interview with Newcastle’s official magazine in August that only players with Kevin Keegan’s approval would be bought - contradicting the club’s recent statement about their ex-manager. (Various)

The more I think about it, the more I think Keegan must brought in mainly as a public relations exercise. Keegan by that point was out of the coaching spotlight when he was bought back. Soon after he was undercut with not having the power to run his own ship which lead to this messy divorce.

Bilic says he is “not going anywhere” and has ruled out becoming manager of either West Ham or Newcastle. (The Sun)

The Croatian Football Federation has threatened legal action if West Ham try to speak to Bilic before the game against England on Wednesday. (Daily Mirror)

Don’t think one has another to do with the other but it is curious timing to say the least.

Not exactly the smartest thing to say right before Chelsea and Manchester City are to meet. Not exactly wrong either however.

Are their some good betting opportunities for you in the qualifiers I read about? Tough trying to learn this game. I am very new to the names and faces, the game itself, but do enjoy watching the matches if time permits.

As with anything they are some. Some players don't adapt to playing for their country like they do for club roles because of different roles on the field. Some like Spain/Turkey/Germany/Russia may be decent to fade because 3 months they were in the semis of Euro 2008 and playing in the biggest game of those players lives. It's a let down 3 months later playing against a weaker country.
