    Default EPL News April 23

Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o claims he has turned down a £35m move to Manchester City. Inter Milan also want the Cameroon star but he says he wants a new deal at the Nou Camp. (Daily Mirror)

Money can’t buy everything. Most players from the World’s top teams are not going to make the jump to Manchester City no matter how much money is thrown at them.

Tottenham are keen on signing Lokomotiv Moscow goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic, who is currently on loan at Grasshoppers Zurich, as back-up for Heurelho Gomes. (The Sun)

Why did Tottenham bring in Carlo Cudicini then?

Arsenal, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are tracking CSKA Moscow’s Czech Republic international striker Tomas Necid, 19, who is available for £3m. (Daily Mirror)

Arsenal would be in the running at 3 million. Teams like Real Madrid rarely do transfers for such a little amount (To them) however. If a bidding war occurs even if Arsenal really likes the players which is unknown at the moment look for them to drop out.

Ipswich representatives made an approach to Roy Keane last week - when Jim Magilton was still in charge at Portman Road - and held further talks with the former Sunderland boss on Monday. (The Sun)

Good luck to Roy Keane at his new job at Craig Forrest old club, Ipswich town. Keane has taken one team up from the Championship before so maybe lightning van strike twice.

Aston Villa defender Martin Laursen is expected to announce his retirement by the end of the week. The Dane has been warned that attempting to play on through his persistent knee problems could cause him problems in later life. (Daily Express)

Would be sad to see a classy player like Laursen have to hang it up due to injury.

Liverpool’s American owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr, have pledged to work together to raise the funds they need to refinance the club’s loans and retain control of the Reds. (The Times)

George Gillett for one can’t sell the Montreal Canadiens quick enough. After their performance last night against Boston can you blame him?

The reason why Tottenham will be a midtable team until I die, because they don't know what they're doing.
