Good to hear from you, Janus and thank you for sharing the post.
i realize you guys already talked about the 60 minutes coverage in another thread, but i didn't see much discussion on the impact it had on your willingness to play in the future.
as we all have, in my time i've sent a fuckload of money offshore to books & casinos in hopes of making money. as the poker craze heightened, there was a distinct opportunity to fleece sheep, and i suspect there still is. but if any of the insiders at joints like ultimate poker could hack tables, to me that's an end-game scenario. even if you're a master player, the margin on poker was already ridiculously thin.
the additional risk that this report brings to the equasion should dissuade advantage players out of the online market completely. after all -- advantage poker players rely most on trust that their disciplined play will pay out over time, not in any given hand... introduce systemic doubt into the equasion and no advantage player would want any part of it.
IMO, this kills online poker for everyone except the donkeys who were already relying on short term luck anyhow.

I stopped playing once the first law was passed and dont miss it. I always thought there was something fishy with online poker, even for a small player like myself.
you will still be safe at ring games and smaller limit tables I believe... Tourneys are what you need to avoid.... Sit n Go's should be safe as well
Welcome back janus.. good to see you

negative, ghostrider. amongst other games, i used to play 50/100 & 100/200 H2H NL... how could i ever again trust my counterpart couldnt see my cards? at those stakes it hurts too much when you're fucked. i doubt anyone who had the ability to see others hands was spending too much time in the 5/10 section, but if they were smart, that's exactly where they'd still be today. i dont fear the dumbfucks like the guy that got caught, i fear the sharper ones who are just taking haircuts instead of scalping.
