opinions on last nights fiasco?

there has to be a legitimate explanation for last night, i still have not heard it.

Main thing I heard was that the weather was supposed to be worse today and on, but that seems like a lousy excuse for that crapola last night - looked like they were just waiting for Tampa to tie it and then shut it down...all of the books recorded it as a Phillies win due to the completed inning rule - I didn't bet on the Rays, but if I did I would be mighty pissed....

Just wish they'd pay my Phillies series bet since they "won" game 5 in the book's eyes!!

I wasn't watching the game but i feel they should of just let em play. It's not like it's only raining and windy on one team. Both teams will have the elements so that's as even as it gets. The only time play should be suspended is for lightning and unplayable field. Someone on ESPN said neither team was slipping around but all it takes is for one playing to start complaining and the umpires have to take the possibility of delay/suspending into consideration.

same with me on the series wager....

also the series has been horribly officiated for both sides. rollins was out a couple nights ago, no pop up fly rule last night and the strike zne has been almost impossible to predict.

tampa's players had to drive to wilmington, de, they had checked out of their hotel and their were no rooms available in the philly area.

i'd be surprised if they play tonight, weather is brutal, rainy, cold and some snow showers.

i sort of agree with that, if they made a bad decision to start the game why not finish it? getting 5 1/2 inning in seemed awefully important to somebody.

last night a fellow philly fan brought up a good point, sounds likes the fox announcers have wagered on the rays in the series or something, even tim mccarver seems pro tampa. if the game is not played tonight it does nothing but help the phils, they will pitch hamels in game 7 if it gets that far.

you need your ticket from last nights game to get in to the next game, wonder how many people lost them in the bad weather and drunken conditions last night.

by the way guys, i'm not bitching, it is what it is but i almost went to that game and would have been hugely disappointed. the cancellation gives me another chance to go....
