I heard on the radio that Oakland and Buffalo have shown interest in a trade for him. He looked like shit in the preseason, I'm not sure if he can ever be anything special. Probably would have happened by now.

Matt Leinart wonders why he's not the starter in Arizona, but he has bigger concerns. He might not make the team.
I'm serious. People in and around the Cardinals' ballclub tell me that the former No. 1 pick might be cut, not because he hasn't completed a high percentage of passes -- because he has -- but because the players there have no faith in the guy and don't believe they can win with him.
If that is in fact the case, it's over. He not only won't make it as the team's starter; he won't make it, period.
Leinart complained that he's outplayed Derek Anderson, and he has -- if you're talking pure numbers. Leinart completed 82.6 percent of his passes this summer to Anderson's 58.5 and has a higher passer rating (110.3 to 70.3). But several players on the Cardinals say they have more confidence in Anderson than Leinart, who sat behind Kurt Warner the past two seasons. So that pushes him to the backup spot, but then the Cards have a couple of rookies -- Max Hall and John Skelton -- who look good enough to keep.
Except for one thing: If one is released he almost surely is claimed.
That brings us back to Leinart, and why the Cards would go into a season with two rookies as backups. The reason, people close to the Cards say, is that he might not be a positive influence in the No. 2 spot and might hold Hall and/or Skelton back. Coach Ken Whisenhunt has said the decision will be based on more than just stats, with the head coach citing "chemistry" as a key component, and that's where Leinart comes up short. Morever, there's a feeling that the Cards have given the guy plenty of time to prove he can make it at this level and are so frustrated that he isn't farther along they're contemplating the improbable.
I'm not saying Leinart gets cut, but I am saying it's a possibility. Matt Leinart should be worried -- about a lot more than just the starter's job.
