Unfortunaltly for the sadist Leach, he implied that the confined the poor injured lad to treat him, not punish him. This lie alone dooms his chances for a successful lawsuit and hurts his chances to be rehired at a large school. God bless james for ridding his school of that kind of filth. It takes bravery to stand up to evil - especially when that evil is far stronger than yourself.

Tech players, though, who were already steering clear of Leach's corner throughout the week, continued to show much less nostalgia for their former coach. Freak show offensive lineman Brandon Carter told reporters after the game that Adam James is "part of our family," and that his charges against Leach were "just the last straw. Sooner or later, something was going to come out." Quarterback Steven Sheffield was even more blunt: "I looked up in the stands and I saw signs about Team Leach. Bring Leach back. Leach ain’t coming back. That’s how it is."

more evidence of leach's crimes - He'll burn in hell for what he did to those atheletes.

    Attorney: Case 'substantially stronger'

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach spent more than five hours behind closed doors Friday, testifying under oath as part of his lawsuit against the school for firing him amid allegations he mistreated a player suffering from a concussion.
After completing his deposition, Leach gave a brief statement, his voice cracking with emotion as he talked about how great it was to be back in Lubbock after a decade building his pass-happy team into a Big 12 powerhouse.
"We've had 10 incredible years here, and had a really good day today," he said. "What can I say? It's 10 years."
“ We've had 10 incredible years here, and had a really good day today.
-- Former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach
He got up quickly from his chair and left the room.
Leach has denied he mistreated receiver Adam James last season and said he suspects an $800,000 bonus he was to have received Dec. 31 was the reason he was fired one day earlier. His lawsuit includes allegations of libel and slander and breach of contract.
The sophomore receiver said his coach twice ordered him to stand for hours while confined in a dark place during practice. James and his father, former player and ESPN analyst Craig James, are expected to give their depositions on Saturday.
One of Leach's attorneys, Ted Liggett, said Leach will be in the room when Craig James is questioned, but not when the younger James gives his deposition.
Another one of Leach's attorneys, Paul Dobrowski, said his client's case is "substantially stronger" following depositions from school officials who investigated allegations of mistreatment. He said testimony from school Chancellor Kent Hance and a university attorney confirmed Leach's contention that Craig James wanted the coach fired when he complained about the way his son was treated following his injury.
One of the attorneys for Texas Tech, Dicky Grigg, said at a news conference late Friday that Leach testified that he "never treated" another player with a concussion like he treated Adam James.
"It was clear from Mike Leach's deposition taken today that he was out to punish a student athlete who had a brain concussion," Grigg said. "This is shown by the language he admitted today under oath that he used."

ESPN.com's David Ubben writes about all things Big 12 in his conference OpenDNS.

    College Football Nation

The school released a profanity-laden sentence that Grigg said had been Leach's instruction to trainer Steve Pincock at that time, and that Leach admitted to saying in his sworn testimony Friday.
"What this language shows is that his intent was vindictive, not therapeutic to this young man," Grigg said.
"Anything else that's being discussed by anyone, other than these indisputable facts proven under oath, anything else is simply an attempt to confuse and avoid the real issues."
Testimony from Hance and the attorney also confirmed that university President Guy Bailey penned a memo Dec. 27 to Hance recommending that Leach "be issued a letter of reprimand" and that the James case be closed, Dobrowski said.
But Dobrowski said Craig James got word to the chancellor that he wanted Leach fired. Hance relayed that information to the board of regents and board Chairman Larry Anders and Vice Chairman Jerry Turner were the ones that recommended Leach be fired, Dobrowski said.
Dobrowski said Hance and the attorney both testified in their depositions that it was "against Texas Tech policy for regents to unduly influence or direct Messrs. Bailey and Myers to terminate an employee like Mike Leach."
The Bailey memo also stated, Dobrowski said, that university policy gave Leach the right to file a lawsuit seeking a temporary restraining order after he was suspended Dec. 28 "without fear of retaliation." Yet he accused Anders of recommending that Leach be fired if he filed a lawsuit.
"I think that we know and they know that our case has gotten substantially stronger by virtue of the discovery process, and that the documents that Texas Tech has produced has confirmed Mike's position," Dobrowski said.
The case has been ugly, including a rapid-fire stream of court filings filled with accusations.
Dobrowski said it was "no coincidence" Texas Tech released video footage this week that shows Leach in the locker room after games against Baylor and Kansas State. Leach is seen and heard using profane language when talking to his team.
The school released the footage because, Dobrowski said, because it is "trying to smear Mike."
Grigg said the school was required by law to release the footage after media outlets filed open records requests. He said he did not know who informed the outlets the tapes existed but that they are "irrelevant" to this case.
The dispute was ordered into mediation, but Dobrowski said he believes the case will go to trial.
"That's my view," he said. "Certainly we are preparing for trial."

Interesting post dirty, to me all it shows is that leach was an unstable coach with major issues. yea, he was quite the leader, hurling insults and profanity to motivate those young lads...and heaven forbid some guylike james comes along that doent buy into the BS - he's gonna have to pay. Yup, Leach made a real example out of him!

Just think , he was a bigtime, major conference football coach at the top of his game. And now he's in court, whining and pleading that he was mistreated...the lord works in mysterious ways!

If a Football team or player can't take a little Tirade with some cussing in it from their head coach they need to be going to school on a clogging scholarship or something.... It is part of sports and always will be at every level... Leach did nothing wrong... if you think every coach in this country does not go off on his team in any competitive sport (Men and women) you need to be watching Tiddly Winks and not tackle football or any other sport... it happens at every level from High School on up and should happen... players need a knot yanked into their ass once in a while and it is the Coach's Job to do so

Mike Leach is not crying for his job... he is rightfully suing the University for wrongful firing and he is 100% correct and will win.... If he was fired for legitimate reasons it would be one thing.. he was to get a reprimand until Craig James stepped in and used his influence to get people in influential positions to cause him to get fired and they are not supposed to have any say in hirings and firings of this nature... That is the bottom line and a conspiracy has been proven that they were after Leach's Job... This has nothing to do with his treatment of Craig James Primadonna Son... it was handled with an internal reprimand... then outside influences took it to the next level... Nothing more and nothing less... as they were told not to discuss the incident as it was over when it was decided Leach would get the reprimand...It was and should have been over.... But it was not because of One person using his Job at ESPN and his potential influence and bad mouthing the school that escalated this...

Attorneys: Texas Tech conspired to fire Leach

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Attorneys for Mike Leach claim in new court filings Friday that a day after signing a new contract last year a top Texas Tech administrator and two members of its board of regents "secretly agreed" to fire him before the school had to pay him an $800,000 bonus.

Information in the documents was drawn from depositions and electronic communications between university officials that Leach's attorneys have gathered in his lawsuit against the university.
Leach was fired Dec. 30, two days after he was suspended following a claim from the family of receiver Adam James that the coach mistreated the player after he got a concussion.
Leach has denied he mistreated James and said he suspects the $800,000 bonus he was to have received Dec. 31. was the reason he was fired.
Tech attorney Dicky Grigg said Friday's filing shows despair.
"Today's action by Mike Leach and his attorneys is another absurd act of desperation," he said in a statement. "This is the legal strategy one deploys when the facts and the law are irrefutably against him."
According to the court filings, on Feb. 20, 2009, it was discussed "that TTU would obtain the benefits of Leach's performance but chisel him out of his compensation."
"Infuriated" by Leach's conduct during contract talks, Tech Chancellor Kent Hance and regents Larry Anders and Jerry Turner "secretly agreed" they would terminate Leach "at the appropriate time," the filing states.
It also adds Craig James, Adam James' father who is an ESPN analyst and former NFL player, and several university officials and regents as defendants in the lawsuit.
Leach's attorneys also claim that Hance twice told the attorney investigating the mistreatment complaint to change her report because it was "too mild" and "too milk toast," court documents show.
Also, the filing accuses the university of not following guidelines of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in that it allowed Hance and two regents to be involved in Leach's contract negotiations last year and in the investigation of Adam James' treatment by Leach.
Only Tech President Guy Bailey and athletic director Gerald Myers are authorized to negotiate, court documents say.
The filing accuses Turner of improperly interfering when he contacted the attorney investigating Adam James' alleged mistreatment Dec. 21 -- after she allegedly had interviewed only Adam and Craig James -- and told her "the investigation should be used to terminate" Leach.
Leach's attorney, Ted Liggett, said Friday he wants the case to go to trial and that the damages Leach would be seeking aren't yet determined.
"It would be reckless of me to hazard a guess at that now other than to say that figure is getting bigger every day," he said. "Every day that Mike is out of work ... raises the damages model."

Perhaps the most absurd argument ever, they were infuriated by his actions during negotiations...and then gave him a contract anyway...and then they vowed to fire him unjustly...all they had to do is wait for him to abuse a player. He's not winning a dime dirty!

If the people that had a say in this were Infuriated they didn't show it... They handled it internally Until Craig James started raising hell with boosters and board members who have no say in the hiring and firing of coaches.. This should have been a non issue as he was disciplined internally and all parties were bound to a gag order. It does not matter if you agree with what he did or the punishment.. Craig James was not affected by the Gag Order so he used his influence to have this happen.. If I was Leach I would Sue Craig James as well and make his Primadonna Ass pay

Sue james? For what? Because he stood up for his son? I can see it now, Leach rambling on in court about how he's the goddamn coach and can do anything he wants to anybody at any time...the spittle flying from his mouth as he recounts how dare that punk kid challenge me, how dare he claim he has a concussion to avoid working out, yup, that'll work.

Standing up for your son is different than recruiting members of the Board and some Alumni to put pressure on the board because HE DIDN'T AGREE with the punishment... Leach was punished Internally and the Issue was over until James started his Mickey Mouse primadonna bullshit

All that matter here are two things ... No matter what you, I or anyone else believe. You have to deal with the facts at hand. Opinions don't matter in court

    1. Leach was disciplined internally and all parties signed Gag order
    2. Craig James used his money, fame, and Job to coerce this Firing. He got pissed and threatened to Blab all over ESPN where he worked as Leverage Over the Alumni and Board Members if Leach was not fired. The people involved that got him fired have no business in Athletic Decisions and they know that... It is in their Contracts. James is a useless jackass that used his access to Media and his Job to blackmail that University into firing Leach or he would trash Texas Tech and he probably didn't care whether it cost him his Job or not.. Probably Not after some of the BS made up expose's just for TV ESPN has done in the past. They don't report news Now they Create it and It wouldn't surprise me if ESPN gave him the unofficial OK to press this matter

Attorneys for fired Leach dispute Texas Tech's immunity claim

    CBSSports.com wire reports
Oct. 7, 2010 LUBBOCK, Texas -- Attorneys for fired football coach Mike Leach argued before a three-judge panel Thursday that Texas Tech's behavior surrounding his departure means it can't claim immunity from his wrongful termination lawsuit.
Leach attorney Paul Dobrowski argued that the university's conduct scuttled its ability to claim protection by sovereign immunity -- a term that means a state agency or entity cannot be sued without permission from the Texas Legislature or without a waiver based on a defendant's conduct.
"We submit it is a viable concept today," Dobrowski told the state's 7th Court of Appeals, which is handling the latest argument on whether Leach's lawsuit will go to trial.
The university fired Leach last Dec. 30, two days after suspending him amid allegations he mistreated Adam James, a receiver who got a concussion. Leach has denied he mistreated James, the son of ESPN analyst Craig James.
Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance and athletic director Gerald Myers were present for Thursday's arguments. Leach was not there.
University attorney Sean Jordan told the panel that Texas Supreme Court "has never, never upheld a waiver by conduct challenge," alluding to a possible outcome were the case to eventually land in the state's highest court.
He told the justices that in sworn testimony Leach didn't deny he twice confined James in a dark place during practice and that under oath the former coach sought to talk about other people's actions.
"The last thing that Mr. Leach wants to talk about is his own conduct," Jordan said.
At one point, Chief Justice Brian Quinn interrupted Jordan as he talked about Leach's contract obligation to provide fair and responsible treatment to his players.
Any reasonable person would see that the former coach's actions weren't reasonable, Jordan said. That prompted Quinn to ask, "Reasonable person, isn't that what a jury decides?"
The appeals court is under no deadline to issue its ruling.
The panel is hearing an appeal from the school after a lower court judge ruled in June that, by its conduct, the university waived its right to sovereign immunity. And Leach's attorneys appealed the judge's dismissal of several other claims in his lawsuit.
In a statement, Texas Tech attorney Dicky Grigg reiterated that Leach was fired because of his "irresponsible" treatment of James and his "unwillingness" to work with the school to resolve the incident.
"As we've said before, there is no merit to Mike Leach's lawsuit either factually or legally, and we believe the Court of Appeals will follow the law and dismiss the remaining claim against the university," the statement reads.
Dobrowski told reporters that the trial judge's ruling to allow the case to go forward was correct.
"We hope the appeals court will decide the same," he said.

Dude you really need to let this go. Your in here complaining for a guy who hasnt even been back to complain about it himself. It honestly seems like your reaching now, and if Dirty paid the fees hes talking about, I wouldn't blame him one bit for "stiffing the guy" for $90 You would do the same thing, if you had to come out of pocket with $100 of your own money. Its easy to talk, when your not the one who had to pay out of pocket.

My response is that you, are one of the two or three people, other than me that post here. And that is really really sad. All dirty needs to do is pay the guy his winnings(thats all it is, winnings), from a god damn fantasy football league that he himself practically begged people to join...pay the fucker his money and stop whining about "transaction costs" that he is alone responsible for.

And by the way dirty...of course I know that you are ghosting as some guy named 66 days...cause no one, no one at all, would give a rats ass about this subject, except a few of us old time posters. you have no posters, no customers, of any kind, it's time to pack it in man!

Every month, there is some mocking post about "dirty" who is so hard up that he's screwing his few posters over(cause he doesnt have a pot to piss in). All you have to do is pay him his lousy $90 and then it's behind you, That's it... get it over with!
