Reggie Jackson joins TBS for playoffs, hopes to do more TV

Reggie (Mr. October) Jackson will conduct a series of one-on-one interviews with fellow stars of autumn, past and present, for a series called "The Pride of October" that will appear during TBS' coverage of the division series and NLCS.
Announced so far: Bob Gibson, at his home in Omaha, and Frank Robinson.
What about Derek Jeter? Jackson wouldn't say for sure, but he did say, "He's an obvious choice, let's put it that way."
Jackson has done sitdown interviews before, including his "Greatest Sports Legends'' series, and also game analysis, including for the 1976 ALCS on ABC, the year before he joined the Yankees.
Although he mostly works for the Yankees these days, Jackson would like to get back into TV work and views the TBS interviews as a first step.
"I haven't done any television for years,'' he said in an exclusive interview with WatchDog. "I wanted to get back in on a limited basis and couldn't crack it [before this].
"Certainly what I do with the Yankees is first and foremost . . . I couldn't see myself leaving the Boss. But yes, I would like to do some television."
I asked Jackson whether he thinks this will be the year the Yankees surpass the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2004. He believes they will.
