MANCHESTER, N.H. - A 5-year old girl reported being brutally beaten by her mother's boyfriend in an assault that included the locking the girl in a clothes dryer.
Eric Zawadzki, 30, of Manchester, allegedly beat and choked the 5-year old girl after her mother left her in his care on Monday. The child reported that he placed her in the clothes dryer during the assault and manually spun the dryer while the child was inside.
He also is alleged to have secured the dryer door shut, refusing to let the child out after the assault. Officers responding to the incident observed extensive bruising and swelling to the child's head, face and neck, along with bruises, swelling and cuts to the child's entire body.
The girl is undergoing further evaluation at the hospital. The Manchester Police Department Juvenile Divison is continuing its investigation into this assault.
Zawadzki was being held on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on charges in Manchester District Court this morning.
