I'll be surprised if Mark Teixeira's name doesn't start coming up in trade rumors. Really good bat in the last year of a contract. I believe Boras is his agent and the Braves are not likely to sign him for the money he will be able to get elsewhere.

Twins have talks about Beltre
Adrian Beltre | Mariners | Interested: Twins?
The Minnesota Twins have reportedly had discussions internally about possibly aquiring Adrian Beltre from the Mariners, writes Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Christensen reports the Twins have not yet contacted the Mariners. Minnesota is not historically known for making big trades in July, but the Star-Tribune reports the the Twins scouts are ready if the need arises.
Myers wants to stay put
Brett Myers | Phillies
Despite recent reports to the contrary, Philadelphia Phillies' right-hander Brett Myers said Tuesday that he does not want to be traded. "Those are false statements," Myers said. "I don't want to be traded. I never asked to be traded. I don't want to go anywhere. I like it here. I have a home here. I have a family here."
Myers is currently pitching at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, and could stay there until after the All-Star break.
Bedard interviewed by Philly radio station
Erik Bedard | Mariners | Interested: Phillies
Seattle Mariners' lefty Erik Bedard gave a phone interview on ESPN Radio 950 in Philadelphia on Tuesday, and though he was very politically correct in his responses, he did say that he would welcome a trade to a contending team.
Mets, Angels would love to add Holliday
Matt Holliday | Rockies | Interested: Mets? Angels?
According to Newsday, New York Mets' manager Jerry Manuel has expressed his interest in acquiring Colorado Rockies' outfielder Matt Holliday. "It's kind of a ticklish situation. If you go and get Holliday, I can take that. I think I can find him a spot," said Manuel.
The Los Angeles Angeles are also interested in Holliday, but they would likely have to give up one of their young pitchers, Ervin Santana, Joe Saunders or Jose Arredondo in any deal for the slugger. At this point, the organization lacks the pitching depth to absorb that type of loss, reports the Los Angeles Times.
D-backs talking about Bonds
Barry Bonds | Giants | Interested: Diamondbacks
According to the East Valley Tribune, the Arizona Diamondbacks have had internal discussions about the possibility of signing Barry Bonds.
With Eric Byrnes (hamstring)likely out for the season, the Diamondbacks have a glaring need in the outfield and must improve their lineup against right-handers. Bonds certainly would fill that void for the team, but obviously there are other factors that come into play.
Epstein denies Bonds rumor
Barry Bonds | Giants | Interested: Red Sox?
Boston general manager Theo Epstein denies a rumor that the Red Sox quietly worked out Barry Bonds at Fenway and are considering him as a possible replacement for injured slugger David Ortiz (wrist).
When questioned about Bonds rumor, Epstein told the Boston Globe, "First I've heard about it. Again, I think we're looking more internal if we need a bat. We really haven't discussed it internally."
The Red Sox need for Bonds appears to be waning, as Ortiz seems to be on his way back to the lineup after taking batting practice pain-free on Tuesday.
Dirty, gen or coop :
is this ok to post here, or should I put it in the MLB section?

I've heard rumors about Tex being traded, too. Man I hope nobody signs Bonds.
This is from 2 weeks ago, but they still are only 6 games back. They'll hold on to him as long as possible, see where they're at around July 31st.

Teixeira staying put?
Mark Teixeira | Braves
The Braves have been fielding phone calls from other teams asking about the availability of Mark Teixeira, and according to ESPN's Jayson Stark, each of those teams were shot down immediately.
According to an official of one team, the Braves do not believe they're even remotely out of it and they are looking to add pitching, not subtract one of the pillars of their offense.
Tex is going no where unless Atlanta loses 10 games in the standing in the next 2 weeks.... Also look for him to be in a Braves Uniform last year. The new owners are going to give the Braves more leeway than Time Warner has the past few years

He is a necessity for the Braves to Succeed. Chipper needs him and so does the rest of our young team. We also need a CF who can play every day
