OFFSHORE BOOKMAKERS HAVE MONSTER WEEKEND, GAMBLERS IGNORE PROHIBITION
written October 23, 2006

EOG.COM has been informed that several prominent online sports books reported over 10% profits in their handle both on Saturday for College Foots and again on Sunday in the NFL.

Alex Daradan from Bet Royal stated, "we thought Saturday Football was great but the NFL games on Sunday were even better because so many teaser bets went up in flames."

Furthermore, many sports books are reporting no significant decrease in their overall handle since the Internet gambling bill was passed.

Roger Moore from SBG GLOBAL states, "gamblers don't seem to be discouraged from wagering and they certainly don't like to be told what they can or cannot do from the confines of their homes."

However, it has also been reported to EOG that the handle on this year's World Series match up between the Cardinals and Tigers is well down from last year.

Curt Meyers from Bet On USA states, "this may be one of the lowest wagered World Series in recent memory. Gamblers aren't very passionate about it. It also appears that having low market teams effects wagering, and I would be shocked if it didn't have an adverse reaction for television viewers as well. "

He continued by stating,

"I believe had the Mets and Yankees been in the World Series, things would have been much better. That would have been the best possible outcome for all parties involved; gamblers, sports books and the media."
