Anyone know what horse Musberger said to take? I remember him mentioning one a couple times during NBA games, it was a longshot, but I don't know the name.
I know absolutely nothing about horses but always make a bet on the Derby so let's hear some thoughts and opinions to help out.

No expert here. Just my opinion:
Barbaro
Steppenwolfer
Jazil
Sharp Humor
That's my superfecta ticket which will be boxed. That would be a helluva payout!!!!!!!!!

i also know nothing about the horses...so any advice is greatly appreciated. from what i've gathered from local watering holes, guys are talking about Brother Derek, Sweetnorthernsaint, Bob and John, Point Determined.
I am going to watch American racing shortly on Uk tv and i will let you know what they are talking about here.I watched brother Derek win a couple of weeks back and he pissed is to be honest. Its all about the draw for the Derby. The track has been made very speedy...So a horse with good speed fractions has got to be favoured I guess.......But a lot of long shots have been hitting....

Please find the following link for your derby breakdown.

Dave 'The Mavern' Gutfreund is one of the few american horseracing cappers that I would follow. I dont know him very well but know him enough to realise that he is a great person. he works on a UK tv channel now. he is back in the usa for the derby and can see the horses in the paddock.
I hope this helps and good luck with your wagering.......
Majid
that was cool....thanks. GO Point Determined/ Sweetnorthernsaint!
Arob, your local watering holes got some good horse racing punters as you had them 2 LOL.....
Majid
yeah thats kinda crazy, as i was planning to avoid those horses due to the sources  . seriously though, i think i got my exacta ready and probably will dabble on the big money horses.
LOL I hope they were not drunk when they mentioned them to you LOL.......But saying that i have known a few people to give the best selections when they have had a few to drink lol....
i got a buddy who strictly bets horses out in vegas... i haven't had time to talk to him yet but i'll let you know who has value, and who he loves etc...
ImgThis is a very difficult race to figure out. This race has alot of front running
horses. The one horse I do not like in the race is Sinister Minister, his
racing style does not suit the kind that usually wins the Derby.
Barbaro- Horse has been tearing up the stable according to the
DRF. I do like his style and he is undefeated. His stride is described
by horseman as a perfect fit for Churchill Downs. Only negative about
Barbaro is he is lightly raced. Probably my top selection.
Sweetnorthernsaint- Ran a monster race in his last start and if he
runs anything close to that he will likely win this. According to DRF
is coming into the race in good spirits and definitely looks the
part.
Brother Derek- Great storyline and awesome horse. Brother Derek is
the best horse in the race. He has a major setback because of the
fact he has been running in 6 horse races and now he will have to
endure a 20 horse field.
Keyed Entry- Has Huge Beyer Figures and has been completely
overlooked. Definitely a Longshot Contender!!!
Point Determined- An Exotics Must Use!!!
Bob and John- Do not like at all. Always thought this horse
was overrated and his last race took alot out of him.
Sinister Minister- To me this horse has no CHANCE!!!
Well there is my take on the Ky.Derby GL to all!!
Heh... the Derby is a crapshoot with so many horses in the field... but I, like most of you, will be glued to the television with a ticket in hand. Probably gonna take a shot on Brother Derek because horses with these pretty storylines have had some recent success in the Derby... aside from that, just pick some numbers and hope for the best... Who really gave Giacomo a chance last year? Answer: All of the dudes who had the right lucky number picked out... but NOBODY that handicapped the race.
I WOULD look at some of the props on this race though. Will the horse leading at the 1/2 mile finish in the top 10... Last year I'm pretty sure Giacomo was leading at all of the fractions and just never faded back. With the fast track today and several speed horses in the field, betting yes might not be a bad option.
I'm gonna go with that prop at Pinnacle... for the leader at the 1/2 mile mark to finish in the top 10... wouldn't surprise me if the leader at the 1/2 mile wins the friggin' race the way things look on the track today, especially if it's one of those outside horses on top at the turn.
Aside from that I'm gonna take a shot on 4 horses w-p-s and probably do an exacta box of these four...
3-7-17-18
Outside looks like where you want to be today on the track, and I think that this 3 horse might have a shot. I'm not keen on Bob and John, but when a jockey has his pick of 3 horses in a stable and specifically requests one of them, the horse is worth a shot... best of luck.
What a race. The winners trainer saved 3 kids in a plane crash years ago. The guy deserves all the success...The horse hacked up....damn the triple crown is definitely on for Barbaro....
A big Cograts to EBONE who dang near picked a $12,000 tri cold.
He had the winner & third nailed in this post here.
Mighty fine handicapping, sir. Don't think I won't be sniffing you out in a couple for your Preakness picks!

I heard one broadcaster say Barbaro may be the next "Super horse" ,
based on his being undefeated and having won the Debry with such apparent ease.
I don't want to tke anything away from a fine performance by a very nice horse. Based on the time differences, Secretariat would have been another NINE lengths in front of Barbaro. THAT is a SUPER HORSE.
Close but no cigar, as the saying goes. It sure was fun though. What's even funnier is that I bet another superfecta ticket with the three that finished in the Top 4 (Barbaro, Steppenwolfer and Jazil). The bad news is that the 4th horse I put in there was Keyed Entry, who finished dead last. Funny stuff.... Superfecta paid $42,230, I believe on a $1 bet.
Thanks for the kind words, Rawhide. However, I think that this may have been a lucky play. I've always loved the horses but I'm certainly a lifetime loser on horses. So please be careful when I make a call on the Preakness.
