Mardi Gras Casino recieved the largest fine, $200,000, while Golden Gates Casino was fined $50,000 and Golden Gulch Casino was fined $20,000.

In addition to accounting irregulatiries, the commission said the casinos also failed to prepare statistical reports, complete investigations and maintain surveillance tapes.

"The division didn't have a level of comfort in whether the casinos were paying their taxes properly or whether there was theft occurring," commission spokesman Don Burmania said Thursday.

A spokeswoman for Golden Gaming declined to comment.

The infractions happened between January, when the casinos changed ownership, and June.

"They got off on the wrong foot," Burmania
