Suspension For Big Baby?
Boston Celtics forward Glen Davis told Yahoo! Sports that he will miss six to eight weeks with a thumb injury suffered when tried to fend off a friend who had punched him.

Without revealing details of what led to Davis breaking his right thumb, Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck told Boston TV station WFXT that Davis "very likely" will be suspended by the team, adding team officials would have a discussion with Davis at some point Tuesday.
Davis underwent thumb surgery Tuesday. He is not in Cleveland, where his teammates open the season Tuesday night against the Cavaliers, Celtics spokesman Jeff Twiss said.
"We'll deal with it," Grousbeck told WFXT. "I'm not going to call him 'Big Baby' anymore. He's Glen. He needs to act like Glen. We'll decide what to do once I talk to him, once we talk to him today."
"It's very likely he'll be suspended. And he'll have some time to think about it. It'll be a message, a teachable moment for the rest of the guys on the team."
Davis, who became a free agent this summer but re-signed with the Celtics for two years and about $6 million, is heading into his third season in Boston. He averaged 7.0 points and 4.0 rebounds a game off the bench last season, but those totals spiked to 15.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in the playoffs, when he was a starter filling in for the injured Kevin Garnett.
Along with Rasheed Wallace and Marquis Daniels, Davis was expected to be a key player off the bench for the Celtics this season.
Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
