dmmd, your thoughts on the Matt Grice loss Saturday Night?

I was watching the fights on spike because I had money on Jake Rosholt (former osu wrestler) and I own the domain name jakerosholt.com. He got choked out in a minute five. I have no freaking clue how that could happen to him, but anyway...

Matt Grice was fighting Matt Veach. Grice was pretty much dominating the guy and I thought on two occasions the ref was going to stop the fight but he did not.

Then, when roles were reversed, Veach only landed ONE punch on Grice and the dude stopped the fight! He missed with all of his others, yet the ref was QUICK to stop the fight.

If he was going to stop the fight in favor of Veach based on what he was doing to Grice, he should have stopped it at least once before when Grice was doing a considerably greater amount of damage to Veach.

I was just wondering if you watched the fight and what your thoughts were. I'm not a huge UFC guy so I don't have a ton of experience with this stuff.

Is it going to turn into boxing where decisions are made like this based on who the promoter or Dana White wants to win as well as potential rematch situations?

That was Grice's second loss, which likely will set him back quite a bit I'm guessing, as far as coming back as well as monetarily. I just thought it was pretty unfair.

I had no dog in that fight. I didn't care who won the match one way or the other. The guy I was with wrestled Grice in high school a few times and he wanted him to win but that didn't affect my opinion.

Also, I did not get to hear any of the audio as we were watching it at the bar. I would have like to hear the announcers' opinions.

Usually skip the UFC fight nights so didn't watch the fight. I would say however Matt Grice is in trouble with UFC trimming the fat with all the contracts they have on the books. Two losses in three fights with just about all of them being on the UFC B shows isn't a good sign.

Joe Silva actually books the fights (Dana White ok's them) and they have had a wrestling mentality for awhile now. (wisely so) I'm sure they play favorites and book fights that will be exciting but there has been a lot of flame outs like mirko cro cop who got pushed hard by UFC only to get knocked out.
