Default The Battle for Last Place

ARIZONA +115 Day Game 12:35pm PST

    Doug Davis vs. Edward Mujica

Mujica has been a career relief pitcher with one start last time out which lasted 4 innings. He actually pitched decent giving up 2 hits and striking out 3. He made 56 pitches the most in one game in his short career. He spent 3 years with Cleve before coming to S.D this year. The most innings he's throw in one year is 39 he's up to 81 innings this year and I can't see him lasting very long in this game. S.D will have to go to the bull-Pen early in this game. Now I don't know S.D plans with this kid. Do they want to try and stretch him out and see if at some point he can be a starter for them in the future. Was he a starter in the Minors? but even if he was that would have been 5 years ago.

Davis on the other hand was rough-up a little in his last start vs. Milw but before that his 3 road starts he didn't give up more then 3 runs pitching at least 6 complete.
Now before that he gave 5 runs to the Philly understandable. But overall in his last 10 starts he hasn't given up more then 3 runs other then the two games against Milw and Philly. If you back out his last start his stats are 9 Games 56 Innings 44 Hits 22 Runs He has a tendency to be a little wild at times but I'll take a shot at a + Price with him today.

I also know that S.D has been playing very well since the All-Star break and playing with a lot of confidence but not today.

    Default Milw Vs Chicago

    Cubs Vs Milw

The price on this game is ridiculous at +158 on Milw
Looper has not pitched badly at all this year and his Away/Night splits are especially good, the ERA may be a little high and with the way the Cubs have been hitting and playing that could be a problem. I say could. Mr. Rich (100 pitch in 4/5 innings) Harden hasn't pitched well at home this year. He's had his moments and I'm not trying to tell you that when right he's not better then Looper. But Rich (I'm always hurt) Harden has pitched more innings this year then at anytime since 2004
I know the Cubs think they got themselves back in the Wild Card race but they have 4 teams to pass and it's not going to happen. If Lou has them believing they still have a shot then he's the Manager of the year in my book. I think Milw is worth a bet.W/Looper

No Time for a write-up but I think Colorado salvages a game in this series and re-takes control of the Wild Card.
