I decided it was a waste of time to discuss Studs & Duds from the 2009 fantasy football season. If you were in a fantasy football league, you know what players crapped out and doomed teams and what players excelled and helped make a team’s season. Let’s focus on making a list of Fantasy Resolutions for the 2010 Fantasy Football season instead.
2010 Fantasy Football Resolutions:
1)I will do my own research along with looking at the fantasy football player rankings on MFS. I will take responsibility on who I draft where. Sure, it is easy to say “I knew Clinton Portis would be a bust this year. Why did I pick him in Round 2 like MFS suggested?”. When you don’t go the other way and say “Damn, I am glad I drafted Ray Rice in the 6th round like MFS recommended.”, you should take some ownership both ways. Plus, you can really puff your chest on your Sleepers!
2)I will review my League Settings, ask questions if there is anything that I don’t understand and give feedback on any of the settings I don’t like. No one should use the excuse that they would have drafted differently if they knew QBs got 6 points for a TD pass or if the league did not use a tight end.
3)I will run a test draft. No one should claim that they draft control did not run correctly on their computer or that they did not understand the difference between adding a player to the Player Queue versus drafting a player from the On Tap area.
4)I will investigate all configuration options that are offered, such as Team QB, so I know what options can benefit the league in the last weeks of the NFL season when playoff-bound teams rest their QB, though it would have hurt more than helped if you used Indy’s Team QB when Peyton Manning was benched in Week 16!
5)I will enhance #4 a bit to look into In-game player changes and how it can benefit my fantasy football league. It is a better choice for players getting benched as you can swap another player in during the playoff weeks, but could also be used all year long and swap in during injuries, such as in Week 3 when Frank Gore was hurt in the beginning of the game and owners were forced to take a zero instead of being able to swap in a replacement running back.
6)I will send an email to MFS if I have any suggestions about how the site could be improved instead of keeping suggestions to myself.
7)I will be very excited next year when I return and see a free fantasy football offering from MFS!
Thanks for spending time with us in 2009. We hope you enjoyed your season. Of course, the level of enjoyment was probably tied to the success of your teams. Come back next summer for some big changes at MFS!
