DIRTman - have you been following the Garner story with UT? Why in the world would he go to UT when they already have M. Kiffin & Orgeron on the defensive side of the ball? I've looking around and though it hasn't been announced, it seems like a done deal. Long term, UGA will be fine, but short term....................big hit to recruiting.

Makes no sense to go back to Tennessee for him.... I am trying to find out more as well and can't get anything

he's the highest paid position coach and the only one that has a multi-year contract. i know he postures for more money just about every year, but UT must be offereing him the farm. hell, he was only there for '96-97, so it's not like he has great ties there. for him to stay at uga, he might have to be named defensive coordinator.

the dawgs do have a former big recruiting guy from FSU (names slips me) who brought in many stellar classes, but like i said, in the short term bad news. uga is the leading candidate to get stud db, branden smith, but now he is said to be closest to garner, and is waiting to see what comes of all this. :tomato
