Kansas @ Nebraska
Two very high powered offenses will battle it out in Lincoln today. After an eternity of futility by Kansas last year during their miracle season they crushed the Huskers and that blackshirt defense for 76 humiliating points. Nebraska has only not scored 30 points twice this year and that was to a #4 ranked Missouri and last week when they put up 28 against Oklahoma. This blackshirt defense would also make Tom Osborne cry because the Huskers have given up over 50 twice this year as well. Kansas in the same vein also only didn't score 30 twice , one was a 29-0 beating where they called the dogs off late and the other was 2 weeks ago against #2 Texas Tech when they put up 21. The Jayhawks defense has been almost non existant lately as well allowing 45 and 63 points against good opponents Oklahoma and Texas Tech. So with all this said the opening line of 69 1/2 made alot of sense. But soon after the line dropped 6 points in a day and I have seen it drop even further since. The reason is WEATHER. As we enter the later months weather is now becoming a factor. Forget the snow and rain, it looks good on television but ask any quarterback or offensive coordinator they will take a rainy snowy day over a windy day anytime. That's where Nebraska's weather report comes in today. The winds have been reported up to 40 mph today !! Even if that becomes a bit of a reach you still have to assume 25-30 mph gusts. This will hamper both offenses in enormous ways. Add to that the Nebraska defenses humiliation that I wrote about and this number should stay UNDER today. I know it's a stretch to think this will stay under and every capper I have spoken to like the over but I go with the weather here. I will take my chances and wait until gametime to bet this checking out the wind updates but so far this seems like the play for me. You can call 1- 888 - 850 - 8211 right up to gametime to check the weather updates for this game and other games all day.
