1. N. Illinois +9.5 (-105) & +10 (-115)
2. N. Illinois +280
Playing the ML 1/6 of what I put on the spread.
Ball St. is wearing the #16 rank mask right now but it won't be long before they get discovered. They have played absolutely NOBODY this year. Eastern Michigan, Western Kentucky, Toledo, Kent St, Indiana, Arkansas, Navy and a D1-AA NorthEastern team. They have no right to be ranked. Their stats are very padded by weak opponents. On the other side we have Northern Illinois who is a very tough team. Atleast they have played Tennessee (great defense) and a very good Minnesota team at Minnesota where they only lost by 4 points. N. Illinois only has 3 losses and those loses they have lost by an average of 3.69 points. This team could very easily be 7-0. This line should not be -9.5. this line shouldn't even be -7. This line should arguably be at -3. The other concern with this game is that N. Illinois starting QB Chandler Harnish has missed 4 games this season. He is the #1 quarterback on the team and with his absence the offensive stats of N. Illinois are a tad lower. Harnish is worth about .5 points more to his team being at quarterback. My projetion for this game puts Ball St -2.26, but with the absence of Chandler this line should be adjusted to be Ball St -1.8. Because Ball St. is ranked and N. Illinois is not they have the motivational edge in this game. It is very reasonable that N. Illinois will win this game. Motivation is not included in the projection below. Best of luck!
Projection:
N. Illinois 23.16
Ball St 24.97
