Default Week 12 college football bets

    4-3 last week
    new record 45-38-2

Thursday Night Football: Oklahoma State vs. Colorado.

Zac Robinson will very likely NOT play tonight.

    I like Oklahoma State -17.

It's a lot of points given that Oklahoma State is going to run the hell out of the football and try and shorten up the game, but Kendall Hunter is closer to being 100% and he is makes a tremendous difference in the running game. Note however, that Keith Toston is 42 yards away from 1000 rushing yards this season. They are two different backs though and complement each other well.

Here are my plays for the game tonight:

    OSU -17
Under 47.5 (this one I like because I know for a fact they are going to grind it out, however it's one of those where a kick return or an INT could make it sketchy, and of course they'll take what the defense is giving them. If Colorado tries to sell out and puts 8 in the box OSU won't be afraid to throw the ball around. So there's a little hesitation there, but look at it this way, Colorado only put up 10 points at Iowa State last week and OSU Texas Tech combined for only 41 points last week.

Side bets I'm not counting for or against my record.

    Over 10.5 3rd quarter EV
Oklahoma State -4 3rd Quarter (I like this one a lot)
First Scoring play of the Game OSU FG +400

Only other two bets I have made so far this week are:

    LSU +4.5
    Texas -27

BTW, Mangino is TOTALLY FIRED (and probably today)

Sending 'em to slaughter one at a time......

Let me tell you how many ways we got fucked in this one.

Return game gas been shit all year. First punt of the game? Touchdown! Okay. We can handle that. Then they give up the kick return for a TD. That hurts. But the turnovers are what killed both wagers.

What irritates me though, is that I could not have been more absolutely right about a game in my life and it still wasn't even close.

I know, dudes are reading thus going WTF it wasn't even close? But I will explain it tomorrow.

I'm too tired and frustrated to even get into it. We just hit home from the game...

Uhhhh!!!!! you went to the game? Random googlemap search (aka -stalker101) says your 90 min from Stillwater.

I'm sure that drive sucked ass after a win like that.
Im sure it was something like this:
30% of the stadium was rootin for Colorado.
70% were rooting for Oklahoma St
    -------------------------------------
40% of the stadium was rooting for Colorado, or Colorado +pts
60% were rooting for Oklahoma St, or St -pts
    -------------------------------------
90% of the stadium went home happy (OKSt won outright, or The Buffs backdoored)
Coop you were part of that All-too-Familiar 10%.

I feel for you, especially with that drive. I am sure the whole way home (conversation with wife and kids) "I'm so excited we pulled it out in the end, what great family time! Thank you for coming with me."
Inside: "What a fuckin waste of time. I cant believe I wasted money on gas, let alone those tickets. Would the kids please just shut the eff up. I hate my wife! and now my life. I know Beecher is gonna have some smart ass Big12 comment for me tomorrow!"

I didnt see the game at all. But I was shocked to see the box score with Colorado mirroring every point The Boys put up on the board...... Good news is, we have 5 more Big12 matchups on Saturday.
Ill give you a prop bet: O/U on the number of Overs in the Big12 on Saturday. 2.5 (this lil guy is NOT a hint)

I'm actually only about 45 minutes from Stillwater. I live in Northwest Edmond so I'm far enough North that it's a fairly close drive. We didn't get home until after 1am though. My girls stayed the night with my mom.

Essentially, here's how I thought this game would go down:

Colorado's offense has not been good and Oklahoma State's defense has turned out to be pretty salty so Colorado would struggle to put points up on the board.

Oklahoma State's backup quarterback is not the best backup on the team. Brandon Weeden, the third team qb is. (it's obvious to all of America now) Some might argue Weeden is better than Robinson. I'm not one of those people, because I haven't seen enough of him to make that statement yet. However I have always believed he is the better passer, and he is. He's always had the best physical build. The dude is almost 6'5". He's got a cannon of an arm. (drafted by the Yankees for his mid nineties fastball) He's pretty fast, but not as quick as Robinson. His only negative was that he has had trouble grasping the offense and hasn't practiced well.

Either way, he's better, and I knew Cate would struggle. Cate DID STRUGGLE, to say the least. He was 0 of 9 passing, with one interception and could have easily had three of them.

My thoughts were that Cate would struggle and OSU would manage a field goal on the strength of their running game. After a series or two, Cate would be replaced with Weeden and he would manage the game well. They wouldn't ask a lot of him but he'd complete third down conversions to keep the clock running and the drive alive.

I did not expect for Gundy to leave Cate in for the entire first half. That's one thing I did not expect to see.

Another thing I did not expect to see was Oklahoma State's Perrish Cox returning a punt for a touchdown. OSU with Perrish and Dez Bryant has been one of the best return teams in the country. But Perrish has really struggled returning punts since Dez has been out and their Kick return team has blocked poorly.

I also did not expect Colorado to return a kickoff for a touchdown.

    If you remember I said:

however it's one of those where a kick return or an INT could make it sketchy,
Not only was there a kick return, there were TWO! Plus, OSU turned the ball over 4 times including the very first offensive play of the game.

They gave Colorado the ball in GREAT field position and you can't do that to any defense.

So the under bet, I feel like that's the best bet I've ever made that lost to be honest. The -17...I'd still make it again and I'm unhappy that it didn't cover, but the under...unbelievable!

Okay, I feel better now...a little.
