Kellen Brand and the Mountaineers host Pacific on Thursday at 8 p.m. in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament semifinals.
BOONE, N.C. — Due to unforseen travel issues for visiting Pacific (the Tigers' Tuesday flight from Denver to Charlotte was canceled), Appalachian State University men’s basketball will now host Pacific in the semifinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament on Thursday at 8 p.m. (please note change from original tipoff date and time) at the Holmes Center. The CIT semifinal, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday evening, will now be played as part of a doubleheader with the women's basketball team's WBI semifinal vs. College of Charleston, which will now tip off at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets for the doubleheader cost $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 3-12. ASU students will be admitted for FREE. Tickets can be purchased online by clicking HERE, by phone at (828) 262-2079 or in person at the ASU athletics ticket office, located in the Holmes Center.
The game will not be televised but a live video stream will be available through Fox College Sports Broadband service (click here for more information).
Appalachian (24-12) has advanced to the CIT semifinals with a 22-point (93-71) first-round home win over Harvard last Wednesday and Monday’s 80-72 road triumph over top-seeded Marshall. Pacific (21-11) earned its semifinal berth with road wins over Loyola Marymount (86-76) and Northern Colorado (63-59). The winner of Wednesday’s ASU-Pacific matchup will travel to face the winner of the other semifinal between Creighton and Missouri State for next Tuesday’s (March 30) CIT championship game.
NOTE: The Yosef Club will host a hospitality room with light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar for all members beginning at 7:30 p.m. on the Holmes Center concourse.
