    Default Week 9 Ncaa hoops

    Monday 1/4/10

    534 - San Jose St. -1 (-120) vs Idaho

You can argue all day long about which team is better. They are both good. San Jose St just needs to win, they are at home for thier 2nd consecutive home game with 5 days to prepare for Idaho. With pretty comparable stats on the year, SJSt has probably faced the stronger SOS and Idaho is off a victory at Hawaii with one day in between road games. I like Idaho but this is a great situational play with a nice bit of value in my opinion.

    549 - Iona -2 (-120) @ Canisius

Iona is in the upper half of the field and appears to be improving. They have the defensive mindset and experience to win on the road. They also have shown some road ability to back it up. Canisius has experience at suckin eggs and they only appear to be getting better at doing just that.

526 - La Tech -2 vs Utah St.

Hate fading a team like Ut.St. but they are a tad less imposing on the road and La Tech is a very tough road win. Add that La Tech is en fuego right now and has some credible road wins ta boot, leads me to believe they can protect thier home turf.

    Good luck and Peace.

Thanks OT, nice to make your aquaintance. Nice to know I found a side with good company and actually won. Ha ha.

    2-1 Monday.

    Tuesday action:

722 - Akron Pk vs Rhode Island

Akron is a good solid team. Fundamentally sound, protects home court and plays defense. RI travels to a non conference situation without any real strong emotional incentive and plays poor defense. I might not want to go against RI at home but they may not be at thier peak potential here. Home team brings the best effort here in my opinion. Really quick line move from +1 and finding a couple sharp cats on this played a part in helping me squeeze the trigger as well. Could be a bit of emotional incentive with Akron also as they were destroyed at Rhode Island last year.

740 - San Diego St. -2 (-120) vs New Mexico

Very tough home court and a talented and well coached team. SDSU is salivating to get an NCAA feather in its cap against a ranked conference rival they are familiar with. NMex may have an emotional letdown but Im not counting on it. This line seems to beg for N.Mexico from the masses after theyve made such a nice splash in non conference action. Although they won, Dayton put a pretty nice tuft of grey hair into NM and controlled the pace on the Lobos home court. Maybe not the best example of a chink in the armour since Dayton is a well respected team.

Good Luck, A well respected College Hoop Player (Not a Tout) is also on the Zips and I'm going to ride with you on this one. The other two I have to pass although I do think those sides are the way to go if your playing them. I just need a little.more to play them.

My two plays tonight Are the Zips and Surprise,Surprise an NBA Game Memphis +1.5.. I see people are pounding Golden St because of all the Denver injury's all I can say to them is Lots of Luck. I think Denver could beat and cover G.S with 4 players. and if they keep pounding this line to a possible -4 or maybe a -4.5 I may bit on Denver. Good Luck Tonight Natty

    522 - Mich St -5 (-120) vs Wisconscin
    535 - Louisville -3 (120) @ Providence
    572 - UConn -7 vs Seton Hall
    657 - GTown +3 @ Marquette
    575 - N.Iowa +1 @ S.Ill
    (all to win 1 unit)

    533 - Charlotte +13.5 @ Tennessee w/over 144.5 (0.4 units to win 1.04)
    (2 tm parlay)

If Im not mistaken, Tennessee will be down to 6 or 7 players with the suspensions. Im really worried as to why this situation has not seemed to get more national press. I, at least, dont seem to be noticing much ado about 4 players getting busted in a car with a couple of guns under the front seat. Maybe this kind of stuff is becoming so common its back page material. Anyway Im not seeing much concern on any of the forums either and the line is moving up so Ill play it somewhat safe by correlating the situation with an over parlay and a smallish risk. Maybe Im missing something and am floating on my own little island here. If what I think to be the situation, actually is.... then Tennessee will be hampered by trying to avoid foul trouble inside, they will certainly run and press as much as possible, and will be unable to play 40 minutes of focused defense since substitutions will come few and far in between. Charlotte has shown ability to score. Chizm will have to be a shadow of his physicality or will be in foul trouble early on. Charlotte will surely attack the post in hopes of taking advantage of the Vols depth deficiencies tonight.

Good luck OT. Kina high on Ill Chi coming into conference play, but they really slapped me in the face last time I bet em in conference. I kinda lean your way too, but Im probably gonna watch to see how they bounce back. Nice handfull of points to be grabbing at any rate. Hope they cash for ya.

OT.... you got me stuck on this game of yours. Im liking it more and more. I am getting itchy and I might have to tail this. Gonna look deeper and keep my eye on the line. I may have overlooked a gem due to my being jaded off a game I thought I shouldve won. Ill Chi only shot 25%, had the lead at half, and outrebounded Detroit by 5 on the offensive boards. Might have just been a clunker. They smashed Wright so Im liking +8 more and more. Thanks for your input.

Ha ha. Got a little ahead of myself. "Smashed" would not be the word to describe Loy Chi beating WrightSt. "Upset" is more accurate. Being that they were at home, its not really a major upset at that. But still a positive. I respect Wright St. a lot.

Gotta show a little faith in my new friend "Old Timer". Ill take a little cred for liking his play but I thank him in advance for getting me to look twice at this game. No one but myself to blame if I lose.

    Adding:

    709 - Loyola Chicago +9 @Cleveland St.

Im taking this line off the posted Vegas lines off Vegas Insider and betting them in about 10 minutes. Not sure the lines will be the same but Ill let everyone know in this thread if I get a different number. I wont have time to post it it I wait til I get home.

I have been sort of high on the way Loy Chi has performed. They let me down with a clunker against the defensively stalwart Detroit team so Im hoping they can get it back against a, somewhat less defensive, Cleveland St. Worry about Cle St. is its thier first home conference game and they beat up Youngstown St. last time out but I think the 9 pt cushion and Loyolas defense can keep things close.

Thanks OT. You inspired me today. I appreciate your input. I feel I owe you some credit for my winner.

Went 3-1. Got a lucky OT winna w/W.Kentucky but I didnt cry too much about waaaaay to many bad beats in December. Ill take all the luck I got coming.

    Friday action:

    836 - Washington/Arizona St. over 136.5

Arizona total dont look too good but they havnt played hardly anybody that plays the pace Washington does. Really no one except possibly the Duke game can compare. I think Washington stands a great chance of forcing a faster tempo if ASU wants to stay in the game. We also cant deny that Washington can tend to be obliging on the defensive effort as well. And that is why we cant compare the Duke game to this one.

    843 - Loyola Maryland +9 (-120) @ Fairfield

Too many points and Loyola might be capable of winning this game outright. Loyola recently hosted Rider to a beatdown in a grudgmatch from last season. The following Siena loss was a forseeable letdown with one day in between games. Loyola plays good defense and has an experienced squad with pretty similar stats as FF against a little better strength of schedule.

I'm playing Wash St +3 Also like the Over 144.5 in this game a bit also. Don't know if I'm going to play the total but I'm on the side and I'm tail my man with his two. Good Luck to us
