Default Playing for the First Time At the Casino...what not to do!!!

I made my way down to AC Friday night and was playing 1-2 NL at the Trop and I really thought about writing about my experiences at the table. There were a number of things that bothered me about the other players at the table. Let me explain

    1. If you have never played before, please know the rules of the game.

The main problem with the drunk guys at the table was how they were betting. Make sure your cards are IN FRONT of your chips. There were probably 15-20 situations where someone would place their cards behind the chip stack or place the chips in front of their hole cards. Some dealers gave the players a warning, stating that a motion like that would mean that they have either called the bet in question or made a raise. Once the chips are in front of the cards that is considered a bet.

The guys seated next to me lost about 200 because he motioned with his chips in front of his cards. He claimed that they were still in his hand. Unless you gave a verbal 'call' any chips in front of your cards are now part of the pot.

The drunker guy to his left kept placing his stacks in front of his cards and didn't know he was calling people all-in. After busting out a guy, he proceeded to argue with the dealer about having to make the call...and he won the hand!!!

    2. Understand what a string bet is
This goes along with #1, understand that you can not go back to your stack to put out more chips.

    3. Be careful what you say at the table
This is from the other week, if you notice some hot chick at another table, don't just start blurping out what you would do to her. There is a good possibility that her husband is sitting across from you waiting to knock your teeth in. A hot chick playing poker will most likely have boyfirend, husband close by watching all the idiots oggling over her C cups and blonde hair.

The drunk guy at our table left for 45 minutes during a tournament, after making the mistake of talking dirty about a girl one table over. Her husband happened to be sitting next to me and wasn't really happy when the drunk was saying that he wasn't sure if he knew her because he couldn't see the top of her head. Classy.

I'll be adding more table stories and game situations when I get the chance.

Playing the Small and Big Blinds...

You have to be careful of when you get into pots that have been raised when you are in the Big or Small Blind. Here's a situation that my buddy ran into over the weekend at this same table. He was small blind and there was a raise to 10 and three callers. He called the raise and then was first to act. Flop comes A 10 6. He checks there is a bet of 30. It comes back around to him and he raises another 30. The initial better reraises all in.

At this time I hoped that my buddy would fold his hand. He didn't have AA 10 10 or 66, if he did a flat call would have been the way to go. I hoped that he had A10 but figured on A6. He calls and flips his A6. The initial better showed A10, no help on the turn and river and my buddy loses about 250.

Even when you think that you have the best hand when playing A rag, you have to assume that when an A hits there will be others playing A something.
The only way you can be sure of a made hand is 6 6 something. Not a very good investment.

Moral of the story, don't play your blinds in NL cash games if there is a raise in front you. Even if you have pocket pair then trip 6's can lost out to trip 10's or A's. Not as likely but you can usually tell how people are playing a set. Just toss in your dollar or two and wait the 2 minutes for another hand. This next hand will give you great position (on the button) and allow you to open your game up and play more hands.

I have read this over and over again, and it happened to me today. Playing on pokerstars 1/2 NL cash game, I get my stack up to about 200. In the sb I pick up A6s, 5 people in the hand. Ok, I'll see a flop. No AK out there due to no raises. Flop A6c3s. Sweet, flopped top two pair, and 3 to the spade draw. Guy bets 6, guy raises to my right to 14, I re-raise to 28. Original bettor folds, guy to my right calls. Turn Ad. Guy bets 22, I re-raise 66 3x's his bet I want to win this hand and get the F*ck out of here. He calls, river, 10. Uh oh. So I have a full house on the turn, he goes all in, I still don't put him on a ten, why would he call all the way down when I have been playing solid at the table, I all but told him I have a set/full house, and he goes all in for like 150. I call, putting myself all in, and have to show him my hand due to the nonsense of Jokerstars. And then the cocksmoker has the balls to say, Good hand. I almost had to buy another monitor, because my current one almost got treated like Eric Clapton's kid, and tossed out of a window.

    Hello

Great. Job. Thanks for sharing this informative information. Here some tips when you play first time Casino games......................

First tip. Sign up for the Players Club Card. It is free and can get you free comps such as a free buffet coupon or a match play coupon which is basically free money.

Second, you mentioned slots, but I would avoid them. They have one of the biggest house advantages out there.
If you know how to play poker, stick with that. If you don't stick with the big 3 - Blackjack, Craps or Baccarat. These have the lowest house advantages out there and can be a lot of fun.

Third, as far as bankroll, it depends on what casino you are going to. If you are going to Bellagio, the table limits are real high and $20 won't get you anywhere. If you are going to a smaller casino $100 would probably be fine. Find the lowest limit tables and stick with those. And I wouldn't leave your credit cards at home, but I would definitely set a limit of $200 or so. If you lose that then either go home or go have a drink in the bar.

If you do want to press your winnings, do it on the roulette table. Pick a color and go for it. Craps may be too complicated if it is your first time at the casino. Roulette is easy. You give them money, they give you a color of chip bet it and cross your fingers.

Lastly, if you do play slots, you can play the .01 or .02. My wife hit a jackpot of $2,200 on a .02 machine so it is possible. Play the max amount of coins to make sure you have a shot at the big jackpot.

Have a good time there and good luck!

Since its your first time to online casino, you should know how to stay longer by setting yourself a limited amount of money that you are willing to bet in any online casino game session which is getting your bankroll. Your bankroll must be discretionary money. That means money that you can afford to lose.

If you are playing for the first time in online casinos then the first thing not to do is don't play with real money. Because there are already many professional players out there and they will surely beat a newbie. If you still want to play a real money game then go for roulette or slots machine. For play a skill based game with real money game, first try it on any free gaming providing site.

I would like to suggest some tips for new players:-
    # Always treat gambling as a form of fun, never take away the fun factor
    # Always decide how much you can afford to spend before you start playing.
    # Never drink and play.
    # Never play when you are tired.
    # Read the terms and conditions before you deposit.
    # Knowledge is power, so study before you play.
From here The Bonus Casinos you may get more tips and information for new players in casinos.
